my toyota has a 1.8 liter dohc engine with a variable timing set up.also it is a solid lifter,so it does have valve lash.now at a certain rpm i hear a rattle in the valve train.to me i think it has something to do with the variable timing setup.is normal for a car with a 100 thousand miles on it.besides this rattle i hear,the car runs great,has all kinds of power.but i fear that when i go to sell the car(which is soon)the noise might deter someone from buying it.what can i do about this issue?p.s.this noise only occurs at a certain rpm and that's it.no other time.
