Question About Kingdom Hearts Manga Delay? Tokyopop In general

OK..I recently Got the New KH 358/2 days game. And it got me thinking. Whats Taking Tokyopop so long to Relase the rest of th KHII Manga!?? Last time I checked they still had the Liscense to the series?

So I did some Browsing around online & According to Borders both Volumes 3 & 4 of KHII Come out in Deceraber!

Now while I have no Problem Believing V3 will be out in Deceraber. I don't see TP being Nice enough To give us 2 volumes in 1 month. Somthing tales me V4 might just be a Placeholder Date.

I know Tokyopop has had alot of Trouble lately. But why is It Takeing them so long to Publish a 5 Volume Series??!!!

I don't want to sound rude...But this is rediculous over a perioud of 3 years only 2 volumes have been published so far V3 has been moved back to Deceraber & despite what Borders say Lord Knows when 4 & 5 will come out! Frankly im a little peeved! I really hope Either Viz or Del-Ray Get the 358/2 days manga when it comes stateside. Becuase TP has Just been Horrible with this series!

(Not to mention the qulity of there bindinig & Paper has been going down for awhile! I would'nt be suprised if there gone in a few years!!!)
 
The problem is the fact in Japan, Kingdom Hearts II was serialized monthly as opposed to weekly or bi-weekly. As a result, it takes longer for the series to come out in Tank format. As of now, I'm not sure if the manga has finished in Japan, although there is a a 358/2 Days Manga being serialized, so I suspect KHII is finished. The issue is, however, is Tokyopop can't release the manga until Japan releases the volumes themself.

So really, there's no need to get so upset. Just be patient.
 
Yeah Volume 5 (the Final Volume of KHII) Came out in japan this summer. V3 has been out in japan for over a year & V4 has been out almost a year.

Thats why Im so Peeved At Tokyopop. There Taking Way Way to long to release them stateside! Again I know the Company has been takeing some big hits (Losing money Liscening & all) But I don't think that should Effect KH that much. Cause again its only 5 volumes & if they had been doing it at a decent pace, we would already have 4 of 5 of em in the US by now...But NO! We only have 2. this is pure mishandling on Tokyopop's part if you ask me! Thats why I REALLY REALLY HOPE THEY DON'T GET THE 358/2 Days Manga! I Hope Square Gives it to some one who would Treat it right! like Viz or Del-Ray! Heck even Yen would handle it better!

Again I don't blame TP 100% but i'd say its at least Half there fault we have had such slow releases (if not a little bit more!)

Seriously it even come out faster if Disney Self Published the US version!
 
I assumed Kingdom Hearts was just one of the many series they dropped....it's a shame,since I liked the manga (it's got alot more humor,for one,and the character designs are good)....and,I'd want to get volumes 3-5 of Kingdom Hearts 2 if they ever did come out (I'm hoping that another company can get the license for the series now....Plus,I'd also like the Kingdom Hearts novels to come out in English)....
 
@Luna. well According to there site, they still have the rights to the KH series. & according to borders V3 (& Possibly 4) Come out in Deceraber. But I agree I Hope that when/If there done publishing KHII That they Drop the Franchise & Let Some one like Del-Ray or Viz Pick it up. As for the Novels. Disney Publsihing has the Right to those, but there Just sitting on them for some reason. But I agree they should Publish the Novels!

Oh well, At least I have 358/2 days & the TCG Entertain me till the next manga volumes come out!

(& then there's the issue of the Various KH collectibles I still have to track down.)
