Question about hooking up my Verizon LG Dare to my laptop?

Okay, I have the LG Dare, and I'm trying to get songs from the hard drive on my laptop to my phone. I've done this before, but it won't connect now. It says device driver software needs to be installed. Is there somewhere online I can get this software, or some way I can get the music onto my phone?
On a side note, I don't have the manual, or anything relating to my phone any more save the charger. I've had this PoS since the day it came out (Yes, I was one of the idiots that paid $300 for it)
And as I said, I've done it before-I have about 40 songs from my computer on here.
 
in many phones, the driver this is asking for is to use the ophone as a modem, which means you need to set the phone to 'mass storage' or whatever it uses to turn it into a jump drive instead of a modem. however, many pohones use their own format for music and simply transfering it wont make it work as you expect.
