Question about guppies and Siamese fighting fish in the same tank?

We got some male fancy guppies and a male Siamese fighting fish today, the lady at the pet shop recommended the guppies as being a good fish to go with the Siamese fighting fish as she said that they don't get along with some fish, but now the Siamese fighting fish is chasing the guppies around the tank? It doesn't seem to like them very much, will they get along?
 
i have the same dillemma i have a blue male betta fish( siamese fighting fish) and i had put him in a ten gallon with guppies he chased them for quite some time after i saw this i thought to myself to addd a few extra hiding spots and voila the guppies hid and the betta quit chasing them i hope this helps
 
If some of your male guppies have flag tails the boy betta will think that they are small baby boy bettas and will chase them.If you have flag tail guppies remove them for a couple of days and see what happens.I hope i helped good luck.
