question about GIMP?

i have a HUGE zit in one of the pics i wanna put on myspace
i GIMP but i just got it and i really don't know how to use it yet
can i take out the zit with it?
if so how?
any tutorials on how to use it?
 
Copy the color of your skin around the zit, and then paint over the zit.

Or, if there's a smudge tool (I don't know, bc I don't use GIMP), then that would work better. Just smudge the skin over the zit if you have a smudge tool.
