Question about fishing?

okay i do alot of fishing on lake ontario, catching small mouths, rock bass, perch, etc. i use worms, sometimes cray fish or minnows. i dont catch big fish though, usually always under 12 inches. would u suggest a lure? i bought a rapala jointed lure for almost 10 bucks but i never catch nothing on lures! what do you suggest for catching big fish? also i have an ugly stick spinner rod
 
try some jigs or top water good time of year for top water baits that's all i use is artificial baits keep trying you'll catch the big one
