Let's say I write a book and it gets published, and I'm a first time author. Would I make $5,000 up front and about $0.25 per book sold? If not, what would be a more standard amount? Would it be unusual for a first-time author to make a Net Annual Income of $75,000.00 to $100,000.00 on the book on its first year at bookstores?

It would be highly unusual, practically unheard of, to make that much off a first book in the first year. Keep the day job. . . at least for awhile.
