I was wondering what the effects of "accepting an apology" are
How does it affect the positive and negative face of the speaker/interlocutor?
I assume that accepting an apology means that the speaker is succumbing to the hearer (who apologised), since he is being forced into a position where he has to accept the apology. So it would damage the negative face of the speaker, right?
Is there anything else I'm missing?
