Question about doing dance classes...?

I'm in Dance 2 at my school and I really enjoy it, and I would like to start dance classes outside of school. I think I'm not so bad at it (which is mostly jazz) for doing it for only a year. But is it kind of late to start dance? Since most people have done it for years?
