Question about cooking three slices of boneless Hormel Cure 81 Ham In The Microwave?

My mom purchased a small Hormel Cure 81 Ham. She had thought it was precooked, but it seems as though it wasn't since the grocery store put their own label on the ham that said "Cook Thoroughly".

I had thought maybe it was a generic label the supermarket placed on the ham and that it didn't have to be cooked, but to be careful I took three slices (the ham was presliced and had about 24 slices total) and threw it in the microwave. Now the whole ham was very small 1.35 lb, but I put three slices of it in a microwave safe bowl and set the timer for 5 minutes. After about 45 seconds though the ham was making a loud popping noise inside of the microwave and so I turned it off after the short 45 second duration of time. When I opened the microwave door, copious amounts of steam came flying out of the microwave and I've rarely ever seen steam present in the microwave.

I wasn't going to eat it, bc I know nothing about cooking (obviously) and wasn't sure if 45 seconds on full power was enough time for those 3 slices to cook properly.

I decided to eat it anyway, but after wards had the sense it was a bad idea, ha ha. I checked to see how long you are supposed to cook a ham in the microwave and it said about 12-15 minutes on 50% power per pound.

Would 45 seconds on full power be too small of a time for the three slices I cooked? The slices were think with the exception of one slice that was a lil on the thick side.

I only ended the cooking cycle prematurely because of the loud popping noises the food was making in the microwave, not to mention the large amount of steam, but now I'm afraid I may have jeopardized my health my eating this.

I know it's tempting to make jokes about this question since i can see how it can be viewed as comical, but I feel like I did something stupid and I'm actually a little afraid of getting sick now.
