Question about cooking a corn beef.?

I would like to cook a corn beef Friday night for a Saturday evening dinner party. The recipe I use calls for the corn beef to be cooked in the oven for a 1/2 hr. or so before serving, that's because there is a glaze that needs to melt over the beef. Putting in in the oven would heat up the beef but do you think the corn beef would be overcooked if I boiled it the night before?
