question about converitng phone contacts to google contacts.

I have the HTC incredible phone and need to convert some of my contacts from phone to google so I can have them backed up.

I did not realize when creating some of them that there was a difference so some got created a local phone contacts. I am thinking of getting the htc incredible 2 and want to be sure everything is synced to google before i do that.

How can I convert just my phone contacts to google so I can back them up?

I dont see an option to change this setting on the individual contacts.

Also how can i get a list of just my phone contacts?
 
Luckily I only have about 20 that are not google contact but local to the phone. I was able to export the phone only ones and then import them into the google account. Hope that worked.
