Generally, the more permanent your living situation, the more likely you are to be separated out.
I've slept in mixed-gender transient tents while waiting for flights out of Kuwait and Iraq (military layovers can take several days!) I've slept in mixed gender situations out in the field, as well.
Other than situations like that, there's separate rooms at least. They try to sort of separate off one hall (if you're in crumbling local buildings) or separate rows of trailers for women. But it just depends on the size of your camp and your command. They try to keep everybody in a unit nearby each other, so it's not like all the women in a large camp will be separated off in one area of the camp.
