Question about Adobe Flash Player? Help?

Yesterday, a notice popped up on my computer to upgrade my Adobe Flash Player, I installed it and a few minutes later when I was online I found a site that said that I don't have the right version of Adobe Flash Player, so I went to teh Adobe website, and intalled the newest version, then I tried the website again. And it still gave me the error report, so I downloaded Adobe Flash Player again. And earlier today I went on YouTube to watch some videos, and it said to download the latest flash player, I did, and my flash player file is gone, and it hasn't been replaced by the newest version. Help? Please?
I'm using Internet Explorer... 7, I believe.
