i didnt get an owners manual with it, what octane of gas should i use? i realize most people use 87 octane because its cheaper but am i better off spending the extra money to run 91 octane, i heard it keeps the engine in alot better condition with less carbon and gunk building up. i got it a few months ago and have been running the 91 octane but is it really worth the extra cost?
to add it has 138,000 miles and seems to run the same no matter what grade of gas i have used.

Nope, Waste of money. Higher octane doesn't increase performance, like gas companies will want you to believe (and why wouldn't they want the extra money from customers buying premium). Octane just refers to resistance to detonation in your engine, it doesn't make it perform better. Engines with higher-compression ratios will generally require higher octane. Your Tahoe's engine is not a high-compression ratio engine, so you're totally fine putting in 87. It won't run worse.
