Queens of the Stone Age

I sorta like that though. JH never seems to sit in the groove to make some cash, he's always out there trying new things.

He also loves his collaborations and that makes me a huge fan. I mean the Dave on Drums years were brilliant. SftD was on of the better albums put together in the 00's.

I like them a lot, as well as Kyuss, and the Desert Sessions CRAB are awesome too, all worth checking out if you like that stoner rock sound. I'm not sure how I feel about the new QOTSA single, "Sick Sick Sick" though - It's getting heavy play on Sirius though which is nice.

You're right, I exaggerated...although, are you sure he just did what Josh told him to do? Because the drumming on all the other albums is pretty different...:\

i don't doubt any of this. at the same time there have been some serious advances made in live recording technology. i'm sure we can all agree the queens have an effing wicked live sound.

if the christmas show from a few years ago with garcia guesting on stage for 3 of the encores was any indication it would sound EPIC

I prefer QOTSA over Kyuss too. And I like Lullabies and Paralyze the most of all of their albums. That album is great when you had some drinks, and are about to fall asleep. Gives a really weird arabience. Must be even better when you have used drugs. But I don't, so I wouldn't know.

Most things on all of their albums are pretty different. S'part of the reason I love 'em.

But yeah, to elaborate upon QOTSA's "legend" status...well, to put it simply, QOTSA is to stoner rock what Nirvana was to grunge, in a way.

See thats why the Bassist is the coolest meraber of the group... the music depenRAB on him / her yet they are too damn cool to do wanky things like solo, talk too much or try to appropriate the whole image of the band, as lead singers often do...

The bass player is like the cool one who makes everyone else look better yet they'd all kinda suck without their much needced bassist...
