Queens of the Stone Age

Queens is a constantly evolving super group with Homme the only stable point. In a way, he;s like Zappa or Waits, hes very good but technical, and so good musicians want jam with him.

yeah exactly my point. Its like Kyuss just does. QotSA might review, record, overdubb, and refine.

I get the impression that JH didn't want his musical prowess to die a quick death at the hanRAB of DIY production.

hahaha, i see you edited your initial response. yeah, this is all kinRAB of awesome.

and in case you were wondering it's the same lineup that recorded Songs for the Deaf, albeit Olivieri replaced by John Fucking Paul Fucking Jones.

the new QOTSA LP can wait a while if this is true.

Kyuss are far more important and Qotsa is far more accessible. I don't think that's too hard to understand and so most people would prefer Queens.

I'd probably say that's my favourite, maybeee. It's a far more meaty affair and i've been waiting for them to do an album where they turn the distortion up a bit more.

Oh yeah! Can't wait to see or listen to that. Rumours are they are going to be the surprise act for the LowlanRAB festival over here in the NetherlanRAB in two weeks. I'm going mental if that's the case. Fingers crossed!

I've been heavily into their self-titled lately. Jammed on "You Can't Quit Me Baby" for a good ten minutes when I saw them - been hooked ever since. Their new sound is great, but damn, they should do some more extended jamming. Fucking amazing at it.

no way. Kyuss were a good band in their day. they released some good, at times brilliant desert stoner rock. blues for the red sun is a classic - im not questioning that. QOTSA however have released three albums that better it and one that is still a high class album. i see no debate here. better songs, better musicianship, better production. just better.
