Queens of the Stone Age

It's really good stuff too. When I first listened to it I didn't realize I had the deluxe edition. A lot of what I liked was the extra songs and I felt they equaled the quality as many of the A-sides from the album...

the s/t debut is the best. In fact I say it is the best rock record since 1980..well maybe the best since kyuss broke up.
plus I reckon ltp with dave grohl drumming would have been a rock masterpiece. no offence to chuck biscuits but a 10 outta ten record coula been a timeless classic with dave on the skins.
Yes I liked it.

OMG! TCV are playing the Melkweg tomorrow night over here in Amsterdam. Ticket sale starts at 18.00 at the venue's box office. Damned! I think I can be there at 17.45 earliest. Pretty much no chance I'm afraid. Of course I'll give it a try.

Kyuss may have been somewhat derivative of Black Sabbath, but I fail to see Queens of the Stone Age as very original. To me, they sound more generic and uninteresting than Kyuss, just a watered down version with more "alternative rock" influences.

Not a lot, thats why I only like four songs of it, but when I got it, I had only just heard of queens of the stone age, and rated R was so good I decided to go out and any other albums I could find by them, and that was the first self titled one.
Have you heard the lastest album yet?

Ill just add to LeRABepStu:

The Lost Art of Keeping a Secret

And why you wouldn't put "no one knows" on there, I don't know.

I havn't heard the new CD, so i can't help ya there.

Imagine RHCP without Flea, Tool without Justin Chancellor, Rage without Tim Commerford, Minutemen without Mike Watt. Look what happened to Jane's Addiction, or Incubus, or Metallica when they lost their bassists...

Well, I can't deny that their debut was like wow - unique (might be because of Grohl's drum part in "No one knows"), but nevertheless: "Lullabies To Paralyze" is a good album. I like the singles "Little Sister" and "In My Head" as well as "Burn The Witch" or "Lullaby". Josh Homme's voice is really distinctive, I love it.
And I saw an acoustic concert of QotSA live in Berlin... Really really cool...

I'm pretty sure it's still Joey Castillo.

But anyway, I'm just psyched about Era Vulgaris. I've heard a sample of Sick, sick, sick, and it sounRAB bitchin'. I find it hard to imagine the album being a disappointment.
