Quantum Mechanics????????????

In the movie Transformers when the girl was talking to the Secretary of Defense she said something about quantum mechanics and the he said "Nothing on this earth is that complex" so its been bugging me what is QUANTUM MECHANICS!!??!?!?!? also i want the long answer but it has to be simple enough too

I don't drive philosophical conclusions from movies...

Quantum mechanics is easy, actually. The math may be difficult, but it does produce answers that anybody can understand. I don't agree to the statement that QM is complex. It's just a matter of opinion, I guess.

My 1040 is more difficult than QM! if you ask me...
