QI Series H Taping Thread

Funnily enough I was channel hopping last night and caught a bit of QI XL on Dave. Davies told a story about the original vacuum cleaners and Fry put him down by saying that he'd heard that fact before on a program called QI.

I wonder if the panel did the same to Fry

He's a smart guy and it was scripted so must have known that it was a repeated joke. Not sure why he accepted to go along with it.

Taping Series H, but we still havn't been shown the XL episodes of Series G eps 2,3,15,16 ...

I still have them all saved to my Hard disk, and waiting for them to be shown (as I save the XL episodes now not the standard ones) but the moment I give in and just burn them all to DVD-R they get aired it's soRAB law.

I'm now thinking that 'maybe' just 'maybe' it actully could be Dave who finally enRAB up airing them.

Can they please not book the awful Vegas again. The only thing good in his last appearance was when Rob Bryden basically picked him apart.

I think people are being a little hard on Sue Perkins. I didn't find her particularly objectionable; indeed her attempts to deal with the oleaginous Gyles Brandreth were fairly amusing if a little repetitive.

Brandreth didn't really work at all. He was uncomfortable to watch and his contributions seemed forced as if he was thinking - "I know loaRAB of stuff - surely some of it must be related to what's going on! No? Well I'll shoehorn something in anyway."

The first episode of the series was very good though. Great mix of guests and Ross Noble fitted in beautifully. I look forward to his other appearances.

To be fair to Hugh Laurie, he was a guest on the first QI, not counting the pilot. Nobody really seemed comfortable with the format on that episode and you can notice a huge difference between that episode and even the second episode.

Yes I noticed that as well. Is should have posted up about it sooner. Did you also look at the look on Alan's face when Stephen had finished? He didn't look impressed that he had repeated the joke he had originally told.

Episode 4 is taping tonight. So far Three episodes have taped and there have been no new people yet :(. I am not counting Eddie Izzard as he was in the pilot, but usually there would be at least one guest. I hope that at least one person joins in this week.

It's interesting that , while there was 9 new people in Series' F and G, there were only 2 in Series E!

I'm quite irritated. I'm usually in the know regarding what's on and when.

I had absolutely no idea Series H has started. Let alone the XL second episode being on tonight.

Was there actually any advertisement?

It's a pity Bill Bailey was on this episode as he's normally quite good, but Sue Perkins and Gyles Brandreth ruined the whole episode.

Episode 3 sees Danny Baker (on no), Sean Lock (very good) and David Mitchell (brilliant).

Was there an episode taped last night on Saturday? It says that there was an episode scheduled to be taped on Wikipedia but no news on who the guests were.

BTW, on Friday's taped episode, the first new guest was Robert Webb.

Yeah I don't recall any advertisements on the BBC for it. Only by chance looking through the EPG on my PVR and I noticed it. Had to get the first episode on iPlayer as well. A bit poorly promoted by the Beeb this time around!

I think I saw one trailer for it on the BBC.

One of the confusing things is that the new series carried on from repeats of the old series so people would automatically presume that it was more of the same.

The same happened with Comedy RoaRABhow and Would I Lie To You.
