QI Series H Taping Thread

Coming soon to BBC1 on Fridays - an hour-long edition of The One Show. So A Question Of Sport will probably move from 7.30 to 8.30, denying QI the slot.

BBC1 seem to have moved the 9pm comedy hour from Friday to Thursday. ITV1 have turned their Friday 9pm slot into an entertainment slot so BBC1 seem to have opted for dramas at that time as an alternative. The comedies were probably meant as an alternative to The Bill but then ITV1 moved The Bill to Tuesdays (their weakest night) to die quietly.

So long-winded way of saying that I predict that the new series of QI will run on Thursdays at 9pm, starting as soon as the World Cup finishes. 16 weeks would take them up to when Have I Got News For You returns in October/November. I predict that QI will form a comedy double bill with The Old Guys and Reggie Perrin, both due back soon for 2nd series. It would mean a regular slot for QI for the duration of the series.

This though is wild speculation on my part. Don't quote me on it.:p

Oh, play nice.

Catherine Tate isn't the best at gameshows - even though she's quite enjoyable on them. RTD wouldn't be on it, he's doing other stuff, and Barrowman I believe is doing Desperate Housewives at the moment?

I started queuing about 2 hours before the doors opened and got in easily. you could possibly get away with 1 hour before hand and still get in but i'd say to leave a minimum of 1.5 hours to pretty much guarantee you a seat. the queue was so big it was going round the corner, down the street and down the side of the IBM building! the studio seats around 600 people but lots of seat are taken up with production guests and priority ticket holders.

good luck and enjoy!

Do try to keep up.
If its anything like last year, discussion of the guests, how the taping goes, the Audioboo question, odd behaviour by panellists (mostly Alan Davies) etc etc.
Have any of the guests made themselves known yet?

The scheduling of the G Series was absolutely atrocious. QI is one of the series that I watch religiously but even I missed a few episodes and had to catch them later. I remember Alan Davies voiced some concern when the F Series was commissioned for BBC 1 instead of BBC 2 and, to be honest, it's been downhill since with a combination of stick a pin in it scheduling and pre watershed status.

Went to recording yesterday, the theme was Horses and Huntings , and the guests were Claire Balding, Jimmy Carr and Dara O'Briain. Stephen Fry was wearing a hunting jacket

According to the elves its on in the Autumn as usual. As mentioned above it is Eddie tonight, with Bill Bailey and Danny Baker.
