Can someone tell me why young males have avatars that are fit women in sexy poses? Isn't the avatar meant to represent you in some way? Do you want other men to look at your posts and feel sexually aroused? It was a phase I never went through, so I am afraid I totally don't get it!

I am not taking the piss btw, am genuinely mystified!

I could care less what others might think about it really... It's just eyecandy for me. :)




 
Fair point. Quite a philosophical one I suppose. Some people use the avatar to project a persona, almost entirely because they wish to be portrayed a certain way. Others can use it as a personal gratification. Ammo for a psychoanalyst no doubt!

I would feel uneasy posting on a board containing mainly men, with a titillating picture of a wench. Almost like a bloke dressing up in a mini skirt going to club with mostly blokes acting like a cock tease! The internet is an amazing place where it is almost expected to behave this way.
