I heard about this a while ago and wondered if it was canned because of Shrek Forever After "bombing".

Yeah, this needs to be moved to general.
 
I hate it when people think that Shrek and all other animated movies are automatically Disney....

I'm not saying you do, just in general.
 
So part of you is dead... Wouldn't that make you a zombie? O.O

Anyway, why is there another bipedal cat? Wasn't established that most cats are normal in Shrek 3?

She does look real cute, I love the mask like pattern on her face, and how they did her collar. But I agree it is a bit weird seeing another cat standing up straight. And apparently wearing boots too. It could make his character seem less unique.
Like a cat wearing boots should have been a onetime only thing.
Although if they can get a good love story and adventure out of this I’m all for it. And the description of her by Selma Hayek as “…both a love interest and a villain in a way. She is very manipulative — like a really good cat.”
Sounds great!
Her look is perfect for that.


I assumed for the most part it would be their crazy spin on the classic Puss in Boots story; where Puss in exchange for a pair of boots helps this poor kid (his "master") find his fortune, a Princess, and finally using his cunning and skill (and maybe a bit of “sad-eyes”) to defeat an evil shape-shifting Ogre.
A pretty great, straight forward “origin” story, that ties in nicely to the Shrek universe - since Puss was originaly hired as an already famous “Ogre killer” in his first run in with Shrek.

Although by the description on the website, they apear to be going all over the place with this story.

-"Puss in Boots" will tell the hilarious and courageous (daring, bold, brave) tale of Puss' early adventures as he teams with mastermind Humpty Dumpty and the street-savvy Kitty to steal the famed Goose that lays the Golden Eggs..."

Not what I expected at all.
Of course I’ll reserve judgment till I see the trailer.

One of my favorite things about Shrek was always Puss in Boots, so count me as interested.

Is it just me or does this "Kitty" character look an awful lot like the cat from those Pepe Le Pew shorts? I think it maybe the shape of Kitty's face and the mask that's making me think of her.

Also, Donkey picture made me :lol:
 
I've never found Dreamworks posters to be terribly eye-catching, but that's pretty awesome.

As for the teaser, it's eh, alright. Just a tease of Puss walking to the tune to some Spanish pop. Between this and the recent KFP2 trailer, the choice of these pop songs just reminds me of the studio's flaws.
 
The first thing I noticed about the poster: no "Dreamworks Face."

I hope this movie is a HTTYD/KFP Dreamworks movie, not a Shrek/Shark Tale/"irreverent" Dreamworks movie.
 
First off, awesome poster is awesome.

However, lame teaser is lame. I understand that they don't want to give away the movie's plot or anything so early, but Puss walking around to Pitbull's music? Seriously.
