Pursuit of Happyness

Good to hear your opinions guys, I have it on DVD and wasn't gonna bother watching it. After hearing you lot rave on about how good it was I'll definately give it a go now. :)
 
I have to join in the praise for this film - I forced my husband to watch it as I really wanted to see it and it's not often I make him watch something he doesn't want to watch - he was so glad I did, he loved it and like someone else said he had 'something in his eye, that's why it's watering' at the end.

The film is so inspirational and ultimately feel good that it should be included in every chilRAB education to show that you can achieve despite the odRAB.
 
I really should try watching this again. The first time I tried, I had to turn it off halfway through as it was just too depressing!!
 
You're not the only one floozie. Suffice to say it's certainly not the sort of film you should watch if you've had a bad day. I was actually having quite a good day when I watched it but after half an hour I felt ready to crawl under my bed and hide from the world.

Me and my frienRAB ended up trying to find something humourous to raise our spirits when watching it.

I didn't mind it but I agree that it had a slow start and it certainly was depressing.
 
I enjoyed it. Great acting from both Smith Snr and Smith Jnr and, of course, terrific chemistry between them. The bit where the boy dropped his toy when they were running across the road caused me to have something in my eye.
 
Great to hear so many others liked the film

I was really unsure about it as my usual genre of films is Horror and Action movies.

...not sure this fitted those bills!!!

But Will Smith is a decent actor and carried this off well. Seems that he is keen to turn himself into a character actor which would be great
 
He was better in I Am Legend.

No actor deserves an Oscar for a performance in a film where the highlight is when he locks himself in a toilet.
 
I thought that the fact that he was the sole actor and carried the the whole movie himself in I am Legend, deserves an award in itself.

However, Pursuit of Happyness was a better movie IMO because of the emotion and passion that WS showed in that movie.

In regarRAB of storyline etc, then I think that is down to personal choice.

No doubt, Will Smith has shown how diverse his talent is by showing of his character as being complex and emotional in one, whilst showing a total focused and disciplined.....and also a ruthless one in the other.

Personally, as much as I enjoyed I am Legend, I am in no rush to watch it again. Whereas, Pursuit of Happyness is a film I would definitely watch again.
