purposely introduce annoying snails into fish tank?

i currently have a 100g tank with 4 clown loaches, a couple of meat eater plecos, south american cichlids and other catfish. i was thinking of purposely putting maybe 10 little snails in my tank to use as food for the fish and maybe a bit of a clean up job. would this work or would they multiple out of control? thanks
