My little boston terrier always nibbles and chews on the covers befoer he goes to sleep. I think it's a comforting thing for him to always have something in his mouth while he falls asleep. But I don't know why he whines or cries when he is nibbling on the covers. He is pushing his paws on the covers too as if he was feeding from the mother. Is it because he misses his mother? He is about 4 months or 5 months old.

It sounds as if he may miss his mother or perhaps was taken away from her a little too soon. My Boston Loves to be under the covers, so this is normal for them and if he likes to nibble on the covers and it bother you that he does this, replace it with a soft toy as soon as he starts chewing on the covers. You have to teach him that a cover is not something to chew on. Don't worry about the winning, as he will most likely grow out of that. I bet he is the cutest thing ever as all Bostons are.

how old was he when he was weaned from his mother? puppies that have been weaned away too early [[before 8 weeks]] can have serious issues. maybe you should talk to a vet or a dog behaviorist?
