I'm looking for polls showing national support (or lack thereof) for making election day a national holiday. What % of Americans think it's a good idea?

You will get no support from this corner. Making 9/11 into "patriot day" was a sick joke, now you want to garnish support for SELECTIONS?? How about sheeple day? Or gee, I dunno why do the people who see thru the lies and fabrications not get a day of our own? Call it the Day We Engineered Electronic Bots, The acronym spells out DWEEB. We could have a dweeb day. Makes about as much sense.

A national holiday is very expensive. Giving workers a paid holiday costs billions in wages, benefits, lost productivity and lost opportunity.
There is no guarantee that it would increase the number of voters.
Many private businesses would not close. Stores would probably remain open and many would hold special sales, drawing shoppers who would be less likely to vote.

There might be an argument for holding elections on a Saturday or Sunday, since most workers are off from their jobs.
