Public Enemies (release 1st July 2009)

Went this afternoon and enjoyed it but was surprised to see people getting up and leaving throughout the film right up to the last 20 minutes Though Depp was brilliant as usual and Bale was just as fantastic. Some parts felt a little slow but made for a good couple of hours x

Didn't get a brilliant review in The Sun either, apparently the sound quality is as bad as the picture quality:

I saw it last night and thought that the cast in general gave good performances, but were let down by the handheld camera work which distracted from the performances and generally poor camera work.

I also noticed it looked quite grainy in places.

I didn't notice any sound problems, but that could be because the couple next to me were constantly talking, and a person sat in front of me had some noisy sweets that they kept taking out of a rustling supermarket carrier bag.

I'd like to know how the film compares with the book, which was excllent, (I read it twice).

5 stars from Empire, though I don't really put much faith in their reviews anymore.

In general I take a star off for Empire reviews, they overate everything to keep the studios sweet and get exclusives.
