I'm looking forward to this. Two of my favourite actors in a costume drama. I don't care if the actual film turns out to be complete rubbish (apparently some people who have seen previews didn't come out of the film gushing about it). I'd happily pay good money to watch Depp and Bale just stand there doing nothing for two hours. :p The film is being advertised on TV quite a bit now. Is anyone else looking forward to this one?

I usually enjoy director Michael Mann's films, so yes, I'm looking forward to Public Enemies. I think Johnny Depp will make a great Dillinger.

Completely agree with that. The whole wobbily hand-held camera work was shocking. Have they never heard of a Steadicam?

Yep, if Bale and Depp's mumblings aren't bad enough as it is, this film managed to make them worse. Random quiet bits of dialogue, that werehard to hear, followed by deafiningly loud stuff. Some of the gunfire effects sounded like a capgun.

The film was very average I thought. 6/10. And that's being generous...

I was a bit bewildered when I'd heard a few people hadn't liked it because so far everything points to it being a great film. I think I will enjoy it.

Christian Bale has got praise from the family of the FBI agent for being so accurate in his portrayal Alston Purvis who is the son of Melvin Purvis said that Christian Bale got his fathers mannerisms and his accent pitch perfect, great praise isnt it ? Cant wait to book my tickets for this,i think this could give Star Trek some serious competition for the film of the summer & whats nice its not got loaRAB of special effects & its a proper story,Total Film has given this 4*

I'm glad I'm not the only one to think that! I didn't mind it in Cloverfield, after all that was supposed to be filmed by a small hand held camera but I don't know why they insist on doing it in other films. If it's just 2 characters in close up having a conversation, what's the point?

I found 'Public Enemies' a bit to long and repetitive though Johnny Depp and Marion Cotillard were both good in their roles. 6/10

Bale is a method actor so this doesn't surprise me but it's very reassuring. :)

I'm really, really looking forward to this film. I've been excited since it was announced. I think regardless of anything else the performences will be worthy. Marion Cotillard looks wonderful too.

There are so few films I'm genuinely interested in this year. Star Trek is the only film I've seen in the cinema so far. Nothing else has interested me enough to make me want to part with money that could be better spent on other things.

Public Enemies does look great though. It would interest me even without such a great cast because I've always found depression era America fascinating and love history in general.

It's being advertised on TV a lot already so I hope it lives up to the hype.
