Picked up an early copy of this and watched it the other night.

I am a big Michael Mann fan, and I know the reviews and general opinions of this movie were pretty mixed, but I was always going to get it anyway.

First off the pic and sound are exemplary. I know some scenes were shot with digital camera and they do take you out of the movie somewhat, but thankfully they are used sparingly. Other than that, the rest of the film is pin sharp and shows Mann's eye for composition perfectly.

I would not say it's one of Mann's best movies, but I enjoyed it far more than I expected.
 
Perhaps...but only a few hand-held close-up scenes seemed to exhibit that graininess that digital film is known for, such as the entire look of Collateral, which had that consistent grain throughout.

But for the most part, the look of the film is pretty sharp and clean.
