My brother just purchased a PSP from a friend of mine - it is a PSP 1000, the first generation ones. The problem is that he was trying to play Silent Hill: Origins and it wouldn't let him. He kept getting the error DADADADA, and basically telling him that the game cannot play. We tried to update the firmware, but it wouldn't install. Apparently, my friend (or his gf) had someone install some custom firmware into the PSP and now we can't get it to update. I don't know what version the firmware is. What would be the best type of firmware to have, the official or custom firmware? I want to update it but I don't know what to look for or what to do since I don't really have any experience with the PSP's and their firmware. Can someone guide me as to what I should do in order to get the latest firmware (custom or official) so that we can play Silent Hill?
