PS3 won't start games?

I have had my ps3 for a little over a year, and now, suddenly, it won't play any more games. When I insert a disc or even try to start a downloaded demo or game, it shows the PLAYSTATION 3 logo on the screen, then goes black, and the ps3 is frozen. Please help!
