PS3 won't play games?

My Ps3 won't detect any of my disc games but it will detect and play Blu-ray movies? Ever since my ps3 updated to that new 3.30 firmware its been acting funky. I have the slim model 120gb if it helps. I bought the extended warranty. Is there something I can do myself before sending it out to sony?I really don't want to go that route. Please help me! Thanks
