PS3 question: Is it possible to play the saved data of a game with a different

cd of the same game? Our cd of Infamous got cracked and we bought a new one. My brother played using his account and he had to start from the very beginning. We checked the saved data though, and his old game is still there.

So my question is.. Is it possible for me to access my old game with a new Infamous cd?
Just tried playing and I had to start all over again. When I went to the load screen, it said that I have no saved data. But I do have saved data, it says so on the home screen (or whatever you call it) of the ps3. Weird..
