Ps3 Jailbreak best firmware?

Hey guys, I just bought a ps3. It has firmware 3.40 I only turned it on to do the initial setup, have not even set it up with my LAN yet. Was wondering which firmware is the best to jailbreak, I notice that 3.41, 3.55 and now 3.56 are all jailbreakable, but I'm wondering if there might be compatibility issues? What version is considered the most stable for Jailbreaking? Can any jailbroken version run emulators(emulators are a must for me). I bought the ps3 for the sole purpose of jailbreaking it, so please do not try to persuade me otherwise. I understand the risk I am taking, I have jailbroken psp's, iphones and android phones, that is why I am doing my research before hand. Just hoping someone who has been following this from the beginning can bring me up to speed. Thanks.
No, there is a point to Jailbreaking the ps3, I bought the ps3 specifically to run emulators on it which already exist. Since, like I previously stated, I bought the ps3 specifically to jailbreak it I have no reason to upgrade to a newer version since I only want it to run homebrew, if you are not going to take the time to read my question, do not respond. thanks. to make this extra clear, I do NOT have a PSN account, if PSN and jailbreaking do not co-exist with each other then I choose jailbreaking any day, now would someone please tell me which ps3 firmware is the best for jailbreaking, I'm currently on version 3.40.
