Ps3 Hungting Crew. When You Gona Start Camping

one of my friends is the Electronics Dept Manager at walmart.. talked to him yesterday, and he said he has recieved a couple of ps3 games so far, but no systems yet, they won't know how many they are getting until they show up.(which could be the 16th). and its a first come first serve basis.. he will call me on my cell when they show up or when people start to show up in line, but i'm going out on the 15th around 6pm to see whats up with a line.. if there is no line, i will be going out there every 2hrs to see if a line has started yet... i would say my last trip would be around 2am on the 16th, and if no line is started yet, i'll come home and sleep until 7am and head out to wait..
 
After thinking about it, I'm gonna do that too. I'll give a call over, and if there are more than 15 people at the best buy by noon on thursday then fuck it, I'll go and get the wii.
 
stealing is different
those same ppl that pay $1500 could also stand in line just as easily but they are willing to pay, plus the ps3 isn't someting anyone NEEDS
 
No, atleast I wouldn't. The rules I'm going by is don't be gone for more than half an hour-45 minutes. If there are 4 people standing in front of me, and 3 leave and just don't come back untill 5 hours later, I'd say fuck them and ask them politely to go to the back of the line. Unless they made sure it was ok with everyone in the line, but idk. in 5 hours 400 people could come and get in line.
 
Sounds about right. I am doing pretty much the same thing except my first visit will be at 8pm instead of 6, and I will call every hour instead of going every hour. Then get there like at 8 or 9am. Hope all OTers that want a PS3(s) get 'em!! Good luck!
 
Don't save a spot unless you want to get lynched by the mob.
If you are close to the front of the line and you'd be holding the spot for an hour or so, then you might be able to get away with telling everyone you have a friend that's coming up to meet you, but I wouldn't.

Usually you can go to the bathroom or go get food with no problem. Just make sure you tell the person behind you where you are going. If you go get food, ask that same person and maybe the person in back of them if they want anything. You don't have to buy their food, but they probably wouldn't expect you to anyway.

At the 360 launch last year I waited with a buddy. He was there an hour before I was and as people got on line behind him, he told them he was holding a spot for me. They were cool with it knowing about it from the spot.
One of the guys behind us went and got McDonald's at 6am. He was really nice and asked if he could pick anything up for anyone. Most people politely declined, but the dude came back with 20 Egg McMuffins anyway. He was a line hero.

Usually there isn't a dickhead mob mentality, but use common sense. No one wants to wait online in the cold, at night, when they could be in their warm bed, only to see some schlep walk in front of them when they can see the finish line.
 
Inside at the Customer Service area usually.

Some Wal-Marts do a lottery drawing for systems so it doesn't matter if you get there early or right at the time of the drawing.

I just called a walmart way out in the boonies, and they said yes they will have ps3s, but she didn't know if it was 10, 15, or what. She said the line will be in layaway, and there are already 3 people there.
