PS3 Divx/Xvid Play back

I thought they said the ps3 would be able to play divx/xvid encoded video files. I can't seem to get them to work... Can anyone else get it to work?

i dont think the ps3 OS has a mpeg-4 ASP decoder only SP and AVC.

you could probably do it in linux though.

at the moment you need to convert them with a program called PS3 video 9.

Might want to grab the fileserver too to transfer files to the PS3 through LAN.
