PS3 Crew - Disk Scratching?

Most likely a few defective systems. Some people had this problem when the PS2 launched.

i hired a ps2 when it came out and bumped it while a disk was in. disk was screwed.

I loved everyone bashing the 360 overheating issues last year. No one should be expecting anything differant from the ps3

I would be pretty dissapointed if the Wii had problems overheating or anything along those lines since it isn't brand new technology

If its properly ventilated, the PS3 has no overheating problems. User error isn't the fault of the manufacturer. About the same for the 360 too actually, only the 360 benefits from having the external power brick, otherwise (judging from the way the fan sounds like a fighter jet powering up while playing a game at room temperature) I GUARANTEE the bitch would be impossible to keep cool.

These consoles put out a shitload of heat, deal with it.


As far as disc scratching, I dont think the PS3's or Wii's drive's mechanisms are even capable of scratching a disk without some type of excess force. The 360, xbox, and ps2 sliding trays are different.

Not really. Plenty of 360s were overheating when they shouldn't have. My 360 was sitting slightly raised off a wood floor and the power brick was sitting out in the middle of no where (also on wood) and mine bit the dust before christmas. Microsoft wouldnt repair 05 models for free unless they know they fucked up something.

The PS3 is GOING to have problems. Venturing into blu ray and everything that goes with that is GOING to bring problems.
