PS3 corrupt game data error?

So i try to play Assassins Creed for the first time, and while the game is loading, my ps3 decides it wants to do some update and makes me quit the game in the middle of it loading up...so i go and do the update, but when i try to load the game agian, it says "Game data is corrupt. Exit the game and then restart after deleting Assassin's Creed game data."....so i go under my saved data and delete the assassins creed data, then restart the system, but when i go to load the game, i keep getting the same error....any idea why i keep getting that error even though i delete the saved data or how to fix this problem? thanks for any help
