PS3 Controller issue or may i'm an idiot

ok, so i played with my wireless controller without any issue yesterday. today i charge it and whatever and i unplug it and it just flashes red or whatever. but it's charged, so what's the deal? i tried pressing the PS button, etc. flashing does not go away.
 
wow, really starting to piss me off. i even watched it say that it was fully charged, so i disconnected the usb cable from the controller and it started flashing rapidly again. wonderful.
 
i read the manual and tried pressing the ps button when the bars were flashing rapidly. a sony employee contacted me about a problem i was having earlier and how the hell i fixed it (long story) and he told me to plug my controller into the usb port of my computer and leave it there for a couple hours to make sure it was charged and if it didn't work then to call them to get a replacement.
 
got off the phone with sony. i had to run to best buy to see if my wireless worked there. it did. so i came back home and made sure that it didn't work with my system. still didn't work. so now i get to send in my system. just great. no cost to me though. no shipping charges nothing. and turn around time is about 3-5 business days. so i should have another ps3 in about a week and a half or so after i ship mine out. still pisses me off though. fuck.
