I don't really know what that means but I think the first means you can send messages while playing a game now.

Second one might mean you can download in the background.
 
The PS3's had 5 firmware updates in 2 months? They might've got the hardware down but they must've started the software just before release.
 
It could be a variety of things. Who knows how many teams are doing firmware updates as we speak? It wouldn't surprise if the March release is comprised of ten different teams doing various parts of cell architecture and other hardware issue.

Has anything from the rumored March update been released?
 
Remember when people finished the firmware before releasing the box? I guess it's good that you can fix things and add features and patch games nowadays, but it just seems to have made everyone sloppier. All the next gen consoles are doing it
 
No I didnt say that...but for the near future.

If you update your PS3s now, you will be fucked later. You will have to wait an extra 8+ months.

Huh? So how the fuck am I wrong? The padding is 420mb then. Like I said, you could fit 3-5 games on your hard drive.

The PS3 homebrew community are warning everyone not to update.
 
Gaming systems are getting more and more complicated so you're no longer able to fully satisfy your wishlist unless you're actually working on the system for several years in advance before release ... too much money to do so when there's ways to save a buck.
 
The ONE thing I want is the background downloading, like the 360 has now.

I HATE having to download shit and just sit there.

Plus, I have a Plasma, so I shut it off so it doesn't burn in. It is just a pain in the dick.
 
that actually raises the PS3 value way up in my book now. Finally 92% backwards compatability. Now we just need to be able to use the periferals and we're good to go
