Use this at your own risk, I don't have a PS3 so I haven't tested it.
Alright guys, it?s time for more kakaroto PSFreedom greateness. He has just released a working PSGroove port for Android, yeah you heard me, a working PSGroove port for Android! Well, here is a short tutorial for HTC Google Nexus One Android phone.
Pre-compiled kernel and module for Froyo 2.2: (tested working on Cyanogen 6.0.0)
Download N1-CM6-PSFreedom.tar.gz
What you need:
Rooted Nexus One with bootloader unlocked
N1-CM6-PSFreedom.tar.gz ? This is the modded version that works with the Backup Manager (which you can easily backup your games).
Android SDK
Install PSGroove on your Nexus One:
1. Put the psfreedom.ko file in the root of your memory card.
2. Put the boot.img file in the same directory that your Android SDK tools are installed.
3. Restart/reboot phone into fastboot mode by holding down the trackball during the power up.
4. By using a command prompt or from a shell window type fastboot boot boot.img
5. After the phone has been booted, open a terminal emulator and then type su.
6. Go to your memory card (usually /sdcard) and run insmod psfreedom.ko
7. Connect your Nexus One phone to the PS3 console and turn the PS3 console power off completely, and then you just follow the guide for PS JailBreak ? power on, push power and then quickly push eject. You will not see anything displayed on your Nexus One.
8. To verify that it worked, go to the games menu and check for ?Install Package Files?.
Now, you can enjoy PSGroove running on your PS3 console with the help of Nexus One.
Note that this is compiled for the Nexus and therefor will not work on other phones. Check this out for compatibility list https://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=tarAC83Wjsq2QZvP4iR5mlw&hl=en#gid=0
But, according to the people over at the XDA-forums, this might just as well work on other phones ? HTC Desire is particularly similar to the Nexus. Use at your own risk. Worst comes to worst, you might need to reflash a rom to your phone.
