pros.cons of the military?

Pros...
Air Force--Higher Funding...Better over seas facilities (Gym, Cafeteria ETC) Better looking girls. Less likely to fight in war. (Still do though)

Marines...Tight knit brotherhood feeling. Get to shoot the big guns. Probably respected the most by the other branches.

Navy....Lots of history. Very family oriented. Get to travel ALOT

Army...hmmmmm really trying to find some Pros. Easier to advance the ranks.

Cons
Air Force----Called the "Chair Force" Looked at as the pretty boys.

Marines----Labeled as jarheads. Front Lines for everything (including stuff the news doesn't talk about) Infantry doesn't always look great on a resume or land you a job afterwards

Navy---Get the Gay stereotype. Tough to advance the ranks. Lots of BS behind scenes with the officers and higher ups.

Army---LOOOOONG deployments. So many troops that you almost become just a number in a crowd. Highest death percentage

Ok that was my take on it. I'm not trying to piss anyone off so I don't want to hear it. I think people who have worked together with all the branches would probably agree on this small list.
But what about the Coast Guard? You forgot about those "puddle pirates"

air force is breaking technology and the coolest
marines have the pride, and the most danger
navy isn't fun, and people probably wont make it so shore
army is simple, but respected

USAF- good living, lame jobs..except pilots
USMC-Crappy living, Good respect
USN-Nice travel, stuck on a ship for long periods of time
USA-Lots of training and career opportunities, always being compared to Marines

HUGE PRO - It is the fastest way I know to secure a gravy job with the federal government from which you cannot be fired for life. After you serve of coarse.

The Air Force is like a corporation. The Army is very, very busy right now and can use some help. The Marines, the are also busy, but have a better work ethic. The Navy, can you say seasick?

They all have cool toys and good opportunities for education.

If you want technology go with the air force or navy. The marines are a limited bunch and therefore have their special pride. The army has a wider range of jobs to choose from because they overlap all the rest.

HUGE PRO: You get to travel and see places.

HUGE PRO: Excellent benefits.

HUGE PRO: Free training. (Though tough!)

HUGE PRO: The respect from others.

HUGE PRO: You will have served your country.

Con: They may ship you to a war you may not agree with and you could get killed.

Con: Basic training is TOUGH!

Con: You will leave your family behind.

My dad is in the army right now and we are currently stationed overseas, yea there may be pros and cons about joining the military but don't let that over-ride the contrabution you'll be making to the security of our country. it doesn't matter what branch of the military you are in, all that matters is that your protecting our nation. and before you join the military do some research and choose whats best for you. thats all that matters. [=

Marines, you get sent into battle
Army, you get sent into battle
Navy, you are stuck on a boat all the time
Air Force, I would pick this branch during a time of war.
