I steamed some lobsters today and it was hot in my house and getting cool outside so i put them outside in the pot so the meat would be easy to pick for lobster rolls the next day. I left them outside for an hour or an hour and a half, then refrigerated them. My question is, are they safe to eat or did I leave them out in the open air too long for them to be safe? I'm going camping and do not want to get sick.
it was about an hour, it was probably only about 70 degrees outside or less and they were not submerged in water. the lobster smell is present but it was present when they first came off the heat.
