(The topic could of been about anything i decided to write about this cause it was the first thing that came to my head. im in college )
I was having one of the best nights I had in a while. The house party was organized to perfection. Everything a teen could ask for was present: food, alcohol, a good DJ, and girls. I was not the only one satisfied, for everyone else’s face expression showed ultimate satisfaction. The night was young, and we were ready to age it.
She was observing me the whole night for I was dancing and a little under the influence. Because she was so young and beautiful, I too was observing her the whole night. She really was a beauty, for she had all the traits I craved for: she was Hispanic, had green eyes, and curly black hair. I noticed her from a distance that she was not alone because around her were around a dozen people. As if she was the sun, and the people resembled the planets. She was the source of energy and the light of the party.
I stood in a corner for almost ten minutes, for I was bedazzled on what to say to her. My shyness was never really a factor, but for some reason her beauty paralyzed me. Thoughts and ideas just flowed my mind from: romantic movies, catch phrases, and face gestures. I soon realized that I must be original, and not just mimic a romantic scene I witnessed on T.V. It was now or never, I decided to approach her.
As I approached her, I passed a lot of girls; but none matched or equalized her goddess look. When we finally confronted, I froze for a second. Then I let my mouth go, “Hello,” I said, “you seem like an interesting person.”
“You too,” she said, “You know, I’ve been observing you for quite a while.”
“Oh really,” I nervously said,” What is your name?”
“Alice,” she seductively replied, “What about yours?”
“Honey, my name is Lamont but I’m known as Big L.” I was looking smooth with my jewelry.
“L is for Lamont,” she said, “What is the Big for?”
“You’ll see,” I replied. She giggled.
“Lets go outside,” she suggested as she grabbed my hand, “because it is too noisy in here.”
When we arrived outside, to my shock it was already dark and cold. I glanced at my cell phone for the time, and it read four- thirty a.m.
“I have to go,” Alice said, “But I really enjoyed meeting you.” She handed me a gum wrapper with numbers on it. “Here take my number and call me. Maybe we can catch a movie.”
She reached for me and gave me a hug; then, just like that she disappeared as she walked down the dark road. It was right there and then, that I noticed that in order to want someone, one must summon up all their courage and make the first move.
