Promotion to E-4 from E-3 in National Guards?

I just joined National Guards. I haven't got to Boot camp yet; it's in march. My question is that if I can be promoted to E-4 before going to boot camp. I have an AA degree and almost 90 some University credits but my recruiter told me I don't need to get my transcripts. When I was about to sign my contract at MEPS they asked me if i'm E-3 or E-4 and I was like I don't know and my recruiter told them i'm E-3. Now I did lot of research and still confused about it. I read at couple places that I can start from E-4. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all
