Progressive Spring installation on a suzuki c90

Has anyone ever done this? How complicated are they to install? With my old Kawi it was just a question of removing the fork caps and swapping out the springs.

I am not familiar w/ the c90 specifically, but the majority if not all metric cruisers still use the same old fork design, so removing the fork cap will allow you to pull the spring out. Some forks have a spring retainer in there as well.
Remember to thread it out slowly, if there is a preload on the springs. Same goes to putting it back on, thread slowly to avoid cross threading. It's very easy to do w/ spring pressure pushing up against it. Depending on the rate of your spring, you may have to fabricate another spacer of a different length.

Easy as can be- takes about 30 minutes to do both. The springs will come with a chart to tell you what length to cut the stock spacer to, or you can use thin-wall metal pipe to make new ones. I can't imagine anyone ever swapping back to the crappy stock ones, so I always cut the stock spacers.

That's what I figured. I put em on all my bikes. I'm just unfamiliar with these forks and talked to a mechanic friend of mine that thought they were inverted forks and according to him, those are a pain. Turns out these are just normal ones so it shouldn't be a problem. Only bummer is that there's no drain plug for the fork oil so you have to siphon it out or remove the forks. I figure I'll replace that as well since I've got 23k on it.
