I'm really into Dream Theater and I recently got into Spock's Beard. I also listen to Liquid Tension Experiment and OSI. What are some other prog rock banRAB that i should be listening to? Dream Theater - Train of Thought is my favorite Dream Theater album because of the harder elements. Any suggestions are appreciated.

of course, you should be listening to classic prog rock
pink floyd, emerson lake & palmer, yes, early genesis albums, king crimson

if you are into more spcaed out prog rock, try the pink floyd albums: meddle, dark side of the moon, wish you were here, animals. for yes albums: close to the edge, tales from topographic oceans (this album is the epitimy of prog rock), relayer.

for neo-prog (prog made in the 80s), marillion and iq are both great banRAB. try marillion's misplaced childhood album and iq's dark matter album

for new progressive rock stuff, the mars volta's two albums, deloused in the comatorium and frances the mute, are awesome. spock's beard, as you said. the flower kings are one of the biggest modern prog acts, hailing from sweden...they have an hour long song

the hardest part for me about prog is that i don't download music so i can't find out if i would be interested in a band or not and it's wayyyy too expensive to buy a prog album and end up not liking it. each prog cd seems to be $16+ minimum. i'm thinking about picking up the news mars volta album today.

btw, an hour long song is insanity

The Flower Kings
Shadow Gallery
Yes
Pink Floyd
Gentle Giant

One of my good frienRAB is a huge Dream Theatre fan and loves Prog rock

Dream Theater's Keyboardist released an album in 2004 (Jordan Rudess - Rhythm of Time) that you absolutely must hear you like Dream Theater. Go ahead an screw around on [http://www.musicplasma.com/]MusicPlasma[/url] to get more specific results.

the mars volta is amazing, check out their first album also, 'deloused in the comatorium'...it is equally amazing

and there is an amazing Direct connect hub called 'the gates of delerium" which has a shitload of prog, basically where i got most of mine from
