Process of buying a car and selling it right after?

I wish to buy a used 05 bmw z4 on eBay and customize it with my own custom designed body kit and other things which will cost me about 35k and i wish to sell it for 40+k online. Do i need to register it as my car, and get insurance, etc ?

what hppns if i get a ticket without having insurance?
 
if u plan on driving it yes u must insure. register is a must. if u do not plan on driving then hand in the plates to dmv, no insurance and begin the sale. good luck 2ya
