Process flow in the restaurant counter...?

The waitress starts by offering drinks and asking if the bills are to be seperate, after bring the drinks she would take their order. She would take the order, hand it to the cook, while he is preparing that order bring them any refills or whatever to the table, then take another tables order.

Bring the others table order in and soon the first tables food will be done, and bring it to them. Pretty much a loop.
